Presenting the 1991 Mercury Grand Marquis GS in triple Twilight Blue. This is the last year of the square body with chrome bumpers and the EFI 5.0 V8 engine. ’90-’91 models offered the slope-away dash. The sloped dash was the reason I have wanted one of these models for over 20 years. Mission accomplished!
In 1990 I drove the sister car, a Ford Crown Victoria LX. In fact, at that time, while schlepping cars for a large transportation company I was able to drive quite a few. The feel of the vehicle, and the long, yet slopped dash stayed with me like the taste of a ’66 Merlot. My last bout with brougham-iness was the 1991 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham d’elegance featured on this site. Feeling the need to lower my profile a bit, and stay within my youth car dreaming years, I decided to look for luxury in the Mercury family, yes “The Sign Of The Cat!”. The car you see here came from a one owner family in North Carolina with only 15,400 miles on the odo. With the under carriage factory paint markings present, and little to no pedal and interior wear, the miles were deemed legit.
Minor maintenance issues have been addressed from age and sitting, i.e. tires, shocks, fluids etc.
