Another project 80’s hot hatch found its way to my shop in the fall of 2025. This 1986 Dodge Omni GLHS has become the Hemi Cuda of the 80’s. This post will be short with a link to the build. Feel free to follow the progress here.

The Dodge Omni Shelby GLHS was a limited-production, high-performance hot hatch from 1986, built on the Dodge Omni platform but enhanced by Carroll Shelby’s team. Known as “Goes Like Hell-S’more,” it featured a more powerful, turbocharged and intercooled 2.2L engine producing 175 horsepower, along with upgraded suspension, larger brakes, and distinctive Shelby styling. With a 0-60 mph time of 6.5 seconds, it was an iconic and rare “sleeper” car that blended practicality with speed.
